Virginia Dauth

About the Artist

Virginia is originally from New Jersey and currently resides in Kennesaw, GA. She graduated Summa cum laude from Kennesaw State University with a B.A. in Studio Art. She took further instruction in oils but was taken with the immediacy, lushness and vibrancy of pastels. She creates her body of work solely in the medium of pastel.

Virginia’s landscapes have been juried into national and international fine art competitions, exhibitions and shows. Many of her works have been selected for corporate, banking and municipal collections. Eight galleries currently represent her.

Artist Statement

It is through the medium of pastel that I express my creative energy. Pastel is the superior medium because it will never change. A pastel painting will be as vivid and vibrant today as three hundred years from today.

I define my style as expressive colorism. It is my vision and expression by which I create landscapes following in the tradition of the American landscape painters. Nature is the key to all color. Nature connects and grounds us, offering us a respite from man-made encroachments.

It is my sincerest hope that my images will recall a special time, place or feeling for you.
